Monthly Reflections: June
Welcome to my monthly reflections! This is my journal space, where I share my monthly highs and lows of running my business as a solo founder, whilst navigating life as a girl in her 30s, who loves to not take life too seriously whilst also having existential thoughts most days.
So this is what’s been going on for me in June…
I’m pregnant!!!
I officially shared on Instagram that I am having a baby! Can’t quite believe it but it’s feeling more real by the day now my bumps getting bigger.
I feel incredibly fortunate that I’ve been feeling so good, minus some nausea in the first trimester. I can’t wait to take you on this journey with me into the complete unknown! I am becoming a mum but what is that going to be like navigating my business, working for myself, my masters and just life! Who knows but I can’t wait to have you by my side.
Getting my life sorted list
You know that feeling when all of a sudden life just feels like a lot, there are things buzzing around your mind, lots of thoughts, ideas, things to do. Well there is nothing like writing a getting my life sorted list. One of my clients was in this exact moment the other day and so I gave her the following steps:
Set up your space – think music, a nice drink, light a candle, get yourself comfy – you want to go into this feeling calm, relaxed, focused or energised, rather than stressed and overwhelmed.
Brain dump everything that’s in your head – I like to use big pieces of paper and coloured pens.
Categorise and organise – look over everything you’ve written down and start to make sense of it. For me this generally looks like, grouping together life admin, long term ideas for my business, work to-dos, uni work.
Decide what can be done now (i.e. in the next week or so) and what is something longer term.
Write the things that can be done now onto the getting my life sorted list – I usually colour code it by area of life.
Make a plan to start ticking these things off – whether this is right now or blocking time in my diary.
Think about what I want to do with the longer term ideas/tasks – often this is blocking time in my diary for when I know it will be a better time/I have the headspace to think about this.
Coaching
I have 2 spaces open in July to support 2 incredible individuals who are ready to make big changes in their life – think finally starting that business, figuring out what you want to do with your life, changing careers, talking your deep dark mindset challenges.
If you’re interested you can book a free discovery call with me to discuss how I can support you.
Your future self is already thanking you. Waking up without dreading work. Setting your own hours. Getting paid for something you love. That’s what’s waiting on the other side.
Baking/cooking/eating
Had a delicious lunch at Ottolenghi in Chelsea – I love Pavillion Road too, if you go then I highly recommend popping into the stationary shop, Papersmiths. I bought a really lovely notepad and pen to note things down re the baby.
Also went to One Club Row for dinner – really loved the vibe, great service and delicious food. A little rich for my taste buds as I prefer lighter, spicier food but definitely worth a visit. Chips are amazing!
I had a Botivo cocktail at One Club Row and it is so tasty!!! Definitely getting my hands on a bottle for the days when I fancy a nice non-alcoholic cocktail. It also has a delicious bitter flavour rather than some non-alcoholic drinks which are either really sweet or just taste like water.
Baking… watch this space! Exciting things are coming…
Have a lovely month and I'll see you at the end of July!
